William Howard Terry, age 83, passed away on May 8, 2016 at his home in Munford,
Tennessee. He was born on May 29, 1932 in Rockport, Mississippi. He was a proud veteran of
the US Navy, serving on the USS Fremont in the 1950''s. He worked 34 years for E.I. duPont
Company. He was a youth baseball coach, avid quail hunter and competitive skeet shooter and
referee. In 2009 he was inducted into the NSSA Hall of Fame as a referee. He was preceded in
death by his parents, Henry and Myrtis Terry and his brother Henry, Jr. He is survived by his wife
of 63 years, Billie Lee Terry, his sons Scott (Michelle) and David (Angie), his sisters Peggy
Spears and Hilda Johnson, 1 grandson and 2 step grandchildren and numerous nieces and
nephews. All who knew him will remember his as a man of faith and as a man of many friends
who never met a stranger. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 11 from 5:00 to 8:00 and the
funeral services will be Thursday, May 12 at 11:00 am at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home
in Millington, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St.
Jude Children''s Hospital.
