WILLIAM M. PURDY, 87, died Monday, June 28, 2010 in Memphis, TN. Mr. Purdy was a Master Gunnery Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps who retired after more than 30 years of service which spanned WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He is survived by his son, Steven Purdy; daughters, Diane Baer and Joyce Paulo; six grandchildren and eight great-grand-children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Warner and Allie Purdy and two brothers. A family and friends visitation time with military honors will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 2 in the Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Chapel in Millington, TN. Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
