William "Bill" Carl Thompson Jr., 64, went to be with the Lord surrounded by family February 1, 2016. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at First Baptist Church Olive Branch from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church Olive Branch. Interment will be in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
Bill served his country in the United States Navy before graduating from the University of Mississippi. After graduation he was a Security Officer at Federal Prison Camp in Montgomery AL, Correctional Officer and Trust Fund Clerk at the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Maxwell Air Force Base, and at Kansas State Penitentiary, and most recently retired from Fedex. He was an enthusiastic Ole Miss Rebel football fan, and loved the Atlanta Braves. He loved helping others and volunteering at his church, ICU ministry at Baptist Desoto, and the Olive Branch Food Pantry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Sandi Ham Thompson.
Survivors include his loving wife of 11 years Doris Thompson, two daughters; Katie Thompson, Morgan Thompson Smith (Austin), four sisters; Donna Sartain (Johnny), Kay Chapuis (Mike), Susan Terry (Jimmy), Betty Ann Thompson Byard (Buddy).
Memorials can be made to the Olive Branch Food Pantry or First Baptist Church Olive Branch.
