William James Biddle was born April 26, 1939 in Ebenezer, Mississippi, to Christopher Columbus and Clifford Biddle.

He married Nadine, his sweetheart, teenager bride of 55 years and to this union six children were born.

He confessed faith in Christ in his later years. He was a faithful member and deacon of the Greater Beulahland Church of God in Christ under the leadership of his brother, Superintendent Stephen Biddle.

He loved God and enjoyed singing with his wife at home and praying with his family during their visits.

He worked as a dedicated landscaping specialist for 20 years for the Crump family.

William succumbed to cancer at home on Saturday, December 1, 2012. He laid his sword and shield down and decided to fight no more.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Nadine; four daughters, Rosalie (Timothy) Travis of Chicago, IL; Willie Mae (James) Stewart of Chicago, IL; Delores Newman of Chicago, IL; and Lillie of Memphis, TN; a son, Andrew C. (Annette) Biddle of Harvest, AL; 21 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Stephen (Ida) Biddle of Brownsville, TN; two sisters, Claudine Townsend of Memphis, TN; and Racheal Brooks of Springfield, IL; and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his son, William James Biddle Jr.; his brother, Ceal Steven; sisters, Carrie, and Barbara.
