Thurston Myrl Thigpun, 70, died Friday, April 24, 2015 at Memphis home. Thurston graduated from Humes High School, attending at the same time as Elvis Presley. SSgt. Thigpun is a Retired Air Force National Guard and a Vietnam Veteran. He also retired from FedEx. He loved motor cycle riding, playing chess, and was an avid bowler and golfer. He was a cut up and loved joking. His survivors include his wife of 28 years, Virginia Malinao Thigpun; children, Lisa (Mickey) Mizell of Senatobia, MS; Vernadette Thigpun of Southaven; Robert J. Thigpun of Memphis; Terri (Michael) Vest of Atoka; Eddie Kirkland of Marion, AR; and Mylena Julco of the Phillipines; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Thurston J. and Mary Rhodes Thigpun; and a daughter, Paula Everette. The family will receive friends at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home on Sunday, April 26, 2015, from 5-8. Funeral Services will be at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home on Monday, April 27, 2015 at 11:00. Interment will be at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery.
