Susan Day Harrison "Mimi", 71, of Bartlett, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Susan's life was a beautiful testament to love, kindness, and family—a light that will never fade.

Born on December 4, 1953, in Evansville, Indiana, Susan was the beloved daughter of Gordon and Doris Day. From a young age, she had a heart full of compassion and an infectious smile that brightened every room she entered.

On November 18, 1972, Susan married her high school sweetheart, M. Gene Harrison. Their marriage of nearly 53 years was a shining reflection of love, faithfulness, and devotion. Together they built a beautiful life centered on family and unconditional love, raising two children, Michael Harrison and Amy Merriman, who were the pride of her life.

She poured her heart into everything she did—from her work at Kimberly Clark and later in the insurance industry to the many roles she held as the anchor of her family.  Susan's proudest achievement was not professional but personal—the family she nurtured and celebrated every day. She loved them fiercely and cherished every birthday, holiday, sports game, and school program she attended for each of them!

Those who knew Susan best will remember her as an angel on earth—beautiful inside and out, humble, thoughtful, and always attuned to others' feelings. She had a gift for making everyone feel valued and loved. Her joy was contagious, and her generosity boundless. Whether dog-sitting for her grand-dogs, gathering the family together for special occasions and birthdays, joining the family for memorable vacations, or relaxing with a puzzle, Susan's presence made every moment brighter.

Susan is survived by her husband, Gene; her son, Michael Harrison (Nina); her daughter, Amy Merriman (Christian) her brothers, Danny Day (Gail) and Charles Day (Anita) and her beloved 5 grandchildren Branden Shemwell (Rachel), Laney Hite (Landon), Caden Merriman, Nolan Merriman, Eden Merriman, great-grandchildren, Mia Grace Shemwell, Mollie Ann Shemwell, Reeves Hite and all her extended family of nieces and nephews and great- nieces and nephews and cousins, all of whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Doris Day.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery and Funeral Home, 6755 US-51, Millington, TN 38053 .
A funeral service celebrating Susan's life will take place on Saturday, November 22, at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Dr. Danny Sinquefield.

In lieu of flowers, Susan and her family would welcome all charitable donations made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
