Lula Sue Hayes, 92, of Millington, TN passed away on November 01, 2021, a homemaker; faithful and loving wife, mother and grandmother who was also excited that she was to be a great grandmother soon. She was born on November 18, 1928 to the late Will F. and Delah Mae Tillman Dunavant in Decaturville, TN.

Sue married Thomas L. Hayes in September of 1949; he preceded her in death on June 15, 2002. She was also preceded in death by five siblings, Willie Floyd Dunavant, Franklin D. Dunavant, Alene Laster, June Wyatt and Jerl Don Dunavant.

Sue leaves her daughter, Kathy S. Hayes Ruffin and her husband, Charles; one grandson, Charles "Brent" Ruffin and his wife Lauren, who was thought of as her own grandchild. Brent and Lauren are expecting her first great-grandson in December.  She also leaves a granddaughter, Catherine Blake Ruffin, one brother, Johnny Wayne Dunavant and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Sue was very active in her daughter's and grandchildren's lives and activities. She loved gardening and working in her flower beds. Sue was known for her infectious smile, her laugh, her hospitality, also homemade cornbread and lemonade. She was called Mama Sue by all her daughter's friends and Meems by all of her grandchildren and their friends.
