On the morning of July 30, 2017; the love of my life, Stephanie Lee (McMullen) Selph was called from her earthly body to be with our sweet Lord Jesus to spend eternity in Heaven praising God for His mercies and unending grace.
She was preceded in her Heavenly journey by her mother, Catherine "Kitty" McMullen, her father John Arden McMullen, one brother Mike McMullen, her sister, Vickie Lynn (McMullen) Miller, and father-in-law George Robert Selph.
Steph was the first of four children and was always, being the eldest, in a position to care for her younger siblings, which by the way, she never let them forget, yes even the diaper changing!
Both Stephanie and her husband, Robert H. Selph were tried and true "Navy brats", always moving from place to place with family being the only constant in their lives. It was that strong bond that guided their nurturing spirits the rest of their lives to the point it became their "ministry". Family, by blood and in Christ Jesus, was in their DNA and served as their joy and blessed assurance that they were living out their faith in Jesus and trust in God.
Stephanie and Robert met and were high school sweethearts at Millington Central High School and were wed at the old Protestant Church on the Navy base in Millington some two years later.
The arrival of their one and only child, Shane, was the beginning of a time of travel as a Navy family throughout the southeastern states, to wind up again four years later back in Millington at what was then the Naval Air Technical Training Command (NATTC) Memphis. While Robert served in the Navy and later the Federal Aviation Administration as an air traffic controller; Stephanie dedicated her life to raising Shane in a home that always made him feel loved.
Stephanie is survived by her husband Robert, son Robert "Shane" Selph and his wife Char, their children Kelton, Austin, and Makayla, brother John "JT" McMullen, mother-in-law Lucille Selph, brothers-in-law Danny & Sandy, George & Felicia, Mike & Sally and some of the most precious cousins, nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters in Christ that God has ever blessed anyone with!
A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from 5-7 pm at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home. Stephanie''s funeral service will be Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Millington where she was a member. Interment will follow at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery.
