Shirley Sabin Summers (81) of Moscow, TN passed away on Saturday July 19, 2014 at her residence where she lived with her daughter Rebecca, after an extended illness. She was born in Oil City, PA on November 9, 1932 to Austa and Truxell Bryan. She was the fifth of six children. Her brothers Ralph, Richard, Gary and sister Eldean all preceded her in death. Her surviving brother James Bryan resides in Slippery Rock, Pa. She married Jacob Sabin on October 8, 1948. They were married for 28 years until his death September 1976. She is survived by four children: Christina Sabin-Fox (Maryland), Rebecca Webb, Melissa Widdop, and Mitchell Sabin who all reside in the Memphis area. Two of her sons are deceased: her three day old son Michael (1950) and Morris Sabin (at age 57 in 2011) She remarried but became a widow again when her husband Charles Summers died in 1989. She enjoyed working with disabled individuals and worked at both the Polk Center in Franklin, Pa and later at Arlington Developmental Center when the family relocated to Tennessee in 1973. She also worked at Holiday Inn Reservations and Memphis Airport Transportation. In her younger days she was an avid bowler who scored several 300 point games. Later in life, she enjoyed traveling, puzzles, and spending time with family, especially her 13 grandchildren and 9 great- grandchildren. Visitation will be 5-7 pm Wednesday, July 23, 2014 and 11 am - 1 pm Thursday at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home , Millington, TN. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Memorial Park Mausoleum.
