Shirley Faye (Phelps) Nail, 88, lost her battle with Alzheimer's on May 15, 2024. A Memphis native, she is preceded in death by her husband, Fred C. Nail, Jr., her parents Charles Lee Phelps and Elsie Hazel Sharpe Phelps, and brothers Charles and Terry Phelps.

She is survived by her three daughters, Anita Whitmire (Dilly), Cecilia Wilson (Doug), and Vicki Bennett (Robert); her five grandchildren, Teresa Rosengrant (Chris), Fred Whitmire, Sr., (Danielle), Melissa Hock, Carol Loomis (Ben), and Katherine Bennett, Five Great grandchildren, Allison Boyle, Annabelle Loomis, Isabelle Hock, Doninic Whitmmire, and Fred Whitmire, Jr., as well as six siblings, Sammy Phelps, Mildred Gump, Jeanette Cook, Jerry Phelps, Gay Hughes, and Kay Carter.

Many will remember her warm smile waiting on customers at Boatwright Pharmacy and she had numerous friends made during her long career with the Navy Exchange. Her biggest joy was family and working in her yard. She was know for her flowers.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday May 20, 2024 at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home, 6755 HWY 51 N Millington, TN 38053, from  1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.  A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home.  Interment will immediately follow in Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery.
