Shirley "Jean" Cates, 85, of Brighton, TN passed away on October 12, 2024 at Covington Care Center.
Jean was born in Memphis, TN. She enjoyed painting, baking and spending time with her grandchildren.

Ms. Cates was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Raymond C. Cates; her parents, Clarence and Mattie Jones Quick;  one grandson, Niko Grimes; two sisters, Vera Thomas and Sara Quick; four brothers ,  Pete Quick, Bob Quick, John Quick and Clarence Quick, Jr.; one brother in-law, Elbert Cates.

She leaves  two sons, Jeremy Cates ( Misty) and Greg Grimes (Shanna Kay); four grandchildren: Zachary Cates, Matthew Cates, Katie Jones, Shirley Grimes: two great grandchildren, Jesse Jones, Alric Grimes; also two Sisters, Mary Cates, Sandra Craig (Bobby).

Graveside service will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 19 at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery 67 Hwy 51 N. Millington, TN 38053
