In Loving Memory of Sarah Reid Berthelson
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." – 2 Timothy 4:7

With grateful hearts, we celebrate the effervescent life of Sarah Ruth Reid Berthelson, who entered the presence of her beloved Savior on February 15, 2025. A devoted servant of Christ, she lived to glorify God through her family, ministry, and writing.

Born in Brookhaven, Mississippi, Sarah gave her heart to Jesus as a young child in preschool and made a public profession of faith at age twelve. She spent her life sharing God's love—serving as a Sunday School teacher for over 50 years, mentoring others in their faith through phone calls and personal visits, and lifting countless prayers on behalf of her loved ones near and far. She often remarked that she had "a direct line to Heaven." Through her Christian faith-based books and poetry—He Guides My Path, Just Jesus, and Only By His Grace, to name a few—she offered encouragement and hope, tirelessly pointing others to Christ.

Sarah was a devoted wife to George Berthelson, a loving mother to Chad (Brenda) and Shay (Melissa), and a cherished grandmother to Parker, Hannah, Summer, Chase, Hope, and Heather. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who were blessed by her kindness, listening ear, and wisdom. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Lemmie Reid; her son, Ky Adam Berthelson, who she adored; her siblings, George Dewey Reid, Mary Hemphill, Billie Capozzi, and Rev. Wiley Bliss Reid; and her nephew, Barry Reid.

Sarah endured life's challenges with unwavering faith, trusting that "His grace is sufficient." She believed wholeheartedly in the power of prayer, the strength of a steadfast heart, and the beauty of a life surrendered to Christ. Her legacy of love and devotion to God will continue in the lives of those she touched. She never met a stranger and truly loved her neighbor—bringing joy through laughter, warmth, and generosity.

A celebration of life will be held on February 22, 2025, at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home in Millington, TN. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church Millington's Missions (fbcmillington.org) to honor Sarah's mission of sharing Christ's love.

Until we meet again, we hold on to her words:
"Just Jesus is enough."
