Ruth Mae Harris Killebrew, 72, crossed over into Glory Sunday, June 29, 2014 at her Memphis home. Mrs. Killebrew was a faithful Christian over 25 years. She enjoyed participating in the Church of Christ Prison Ministry, Hope Works, and was a member of the Neely Care and Share Outreach Group. She loved her church and was involved in a number of ministries at Millington Church of Christ and Holmes Road Church of Christ. Her survivors include her children, Pastor Rita Felece (Jerome) Bacon of El Paso, TX; Ronald Lee (Karole) Harris of Los Banos, CA; and Crystal Elaine (Eric) Harris-Otiende of Memphis; sisters, Lou D. Banks of Memphis; Francetta Harris of Memphis; and Lorraine Hodges of NY; grandchildren, Dionna Renee Bacon James of Dallas, TX; Justin Jeremain Bacon of El Paso, TX; Jasmin Nicole Bacon of TX; Charisa Marche Harris of Memphis; Keolyn Brandel Harris of Memphis; Drew Harris; Seth Harris; Jordan Harris; Taylor Harris; and Jennifer Harris all of Los Banos, CA; great-grandchildren, Jevante Bacon; Layla James; Kalania Lawson; Justin Jermain Bacon Jr.; and Serenity Denise Price; and her former husband, Ronald Edward Killebrew of Memphis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Jacob Harris and Eliza Jane Newsom Harris; a sister, Honerest L. Harris Edwards; and a daughter, Brandy Denise Harris. Mrs. Killebrew donated her body as a gift for scientific study to the Genesis Medical Education and Research Institute. "The legacy that I want to leave my children and family is from the reading of the 23rd Psalm, Psalm 46, and from Proverbs 3:5-6, Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. A Celebration of Life has been planned at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. A repast will be held at the Holmes Road Church of Christ.
