RUBY J. D. HINDMON, 77, of Memphis, retired Shelby County School Teacher at E. A. Harold School, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 21 at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home, with interment to follow in the Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Hindmon was a graduate of the University of Memphis receiving degrees in both 1963 and 1968. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Verlon Hindmon. She is survived by one son, James K. Hindmon of Memphis; one brother, Jerry Dixon of Memphis; two granddaughters, Jamie Hindmon of Germantown and Jennifer Cole of Franklin, TN and two great-grandchildren, Madison Cole and Miller Cole. The family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer''s Day Care Service Dorothy''s Place on Hickory Hill Road.
