Robert Howell Moore, age 88 of Smyrna, TN, formerly of Rosemark and Millington, died Monday, September 17, 2018 in Smyrna, TN. Robert was a graduate of Bolton High School, Draughon's Business College and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He spent many years in the grocery business starting at Click's Grocery in Brighton as a teen. Later he worked for Malone & Hyde, Kroger, and finally as the owner of Town and Country Grocery on Highway 51. Located in the Lucy/Woodstock area, customers were attracted by the half-bushel basket of red tomatoes on the side of the highway. In his retirement years, he worked part-time for Wallace Johnston Appliance Parts and was most recently known as the "Appliance Guy" at local flea markets. He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Dorothy "Beauton" Salmon Moore of Smyrna, TN; son, Michael Donovan "Donnie" Moore of Morristown, TN; daughters, Yvonne Moore Moon of Wartrace, TN; Beth (Joel) Moore Valone of Cherryville, NC; Debra Moore of Smyrna; daughter-in-law Sharon Muska Moore of Germantown; five grandsons, two granddaughters, four great-grandchildren, and a multitude of extended family members. Robert was preceded in death by two sons, Robert "Bobby" Howell Moore Jr. and Ronald Gary "Ronny" Moore; his twin sister, Doris Moore McCorkle; mother, Ruth Howell Moore; and father, Luke Moore, who died when Robert was a toddler. Visitation will be Friday, September 21, 2018, from 5-7 p.m., with the funeral on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 2 p.m. Both services will be held at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home, with interment immediately following at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery.
