Robert Gene Huber, born September 8, 1933 in Deweese, Nebraska, died on August 20, 2020 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. He resided in Millington, TN. He was the only child of Walter and Rose Huber. His father, Walter, was stationed in Millington through the Navy. Robert joined the Marine Corps after graduating from Millington Central High School where he played football, baseball, and saxophone. After his military service, he worked for Chromasco Mining and Smelting Corporation. At the age of 40, he joined the Marine Reserves full time until he retired at the age of 60. He enjoyed staying active his whole life, and in his last years he was often working on his farm and working out at the Millington Naval Base. Robert was a lover of his history and his family heritage throughout Nebraska, Germany, and the Czech Republic. He was an avid collector of memories of his family and greatly enjoyed taking care of keepsakes from his grandparents, parents, sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Lucy Baptist Church. Robert is survived by his sons Robert Huber Sr. (Robin), Steve Huber, Jimmy Cates (Tink), six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home at 6755 Highway 51 North, Millington, TN 38053 on August 25, 2020 at 10 a.m. with graveside services to follow at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make all donations in Robert G.
