Robert Ross Appleton, 86, died February 3, 2014 at Millington Healthcare. Robert grew up at the St Peter''s Orphanage. He grew into a wonderful and devoted family man. Mr. Appleton was an Army veteran who worked at St Joseph''s Hospital, The Pyramid, and the Cook Coliseum in the Maintenance Department. He loved fishing, walking and collecting aluminum cans. He was a resourceful man who worked hard to provide for his family. He once painted a dance studio so that his grandchildren would receive free dance lessons. His survivors include his wife of 43 years, Dorothy Appleton; his children, Bernadette Gross, Gene Appleton, Dominic Appleton, Thomas Appleton, Teresa Appleton, Helen Reeder, and Rose Ann Brown, 14 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Ann Smith. The family will receive friends at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 from 5:00 - 8:00. Funeral services will be at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
