Richard Michael Sanders, “Mike,” age 67, of Bartlett, TN, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 18 2026. He was born and raised in Memphis, TN graduating from West Side High School in 1977. He made his home in Bartlett, TN for 37 years.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ruthie Stephenson Sanders, and two daughters: Jill Pepper (Garrett) and Allison Hensley (Stephen). He leaves behind three grandchildren: Mattie Hensley, Mac Pepper, and Grant Hensley. He also leaves his siblings: Harry Sanders Jr. (Stacey), Shelia Hendrix, and Pam Sanders. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Sanders, Sr. and Dorris Sanders, and grandson, Reed Michael Hensley.

He began his career at Automated Conveyors Systems, Inc. in the fall of 1978. For 45 years, he held various positions in multiple departments throughout the company. He advanced to management positions in both the sales department and in the plant. In December of 2023 he retired with plans to spend more time with his children and grandchildren.

He enjoyed restoring cars, wood working, playing pool, boating, yard work, watching nascar, and most of all playing with his grandchildren. He was generous with his time volunteering to serve his family, friends, and neighbors whenever possible. You could not find a better problem solver, handyman, storyteller, or friend.

Services will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home, located at 6755 US-51. The family will receive visitors from 1:00-2:00pm, with services to follow.
