Obituary

Raymond Henry Jackson, age 84, passed away peacefully at home in Bartlett, Tennessee on May 15, surrounded by his entire family.

Raymond was born on October 11, 1941 in Holland, Missouri to Calvin and Fannie Mae Jackson. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1965. He went on to be a butcher for the rest of his carrier. For 63 wonderful years, Raymond shared a devoted marriage with the love of his life, Brenda Jackson. Together they built a family rooted in love, faith, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. Raymond was the kind of man who made everyone feel welcome. He was deeply respected by all who knew him, not only for his strength and character, but for the kindness and humor he carried through every season of his life. His faith was never something he had to announce — it was evident in the way he lived, cared for others, and loved his family wholeheartedly. Some of the most cherished memories of Raymond will always be of grandchildren piled into his recliner beside him, eating chips while watching cartoons and movies together. His contagious sense of humor and quick wit never left him, even in his final days, continuing to bring smiles and laughter to those around him. He was preceded in death by his parents Calvin & Fannie Mae Jackson, and his brother Calvin Jackson Jr. He leaves behind his beloved wife Brenda Jackson; his children, Gary & Tammy Jackson, and Melanie Mounce; his cherished grandchildren, Britney & Chris Stackler, Meagan & Kyle Lenahan, Kelsey & Danny Harkess, Tessa & Spencer Lish, Cody & Jessica Jackson, Amber Morris, and Catherine Woodward; his 10 great-grandchildren: Kylee, Charlee Jo, Lane, Natalie, Hannah Grace, Caleb, Gabriel, Zaelynn, Nicholas, Oliver, Taylor, Spencer, Katie, and Katrina, to whom he was lovingly known as “Pawpaw." He is also survived by his brothers Richard & Jimmie Jackson and Howard & Martha Jackson, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory. Raymond’s legacy of faith, laughter, strength, unconditional love, and "heart of gold" will live on forever in all of those who were blessed enough to know him.
