Phillip Allan McNamara, Jr. passed away on October 16, 2018 in Memphis TN . He was born on Jan 19, 1942 in Memphis, TN to Phillip "Allan" McNamara, Sr. and Helen Atkins McNamara. He leaves his wife, Kathleen Caprio McNamara of 17 years, his daughter Deirdre McNamara McClellan, his son Phillip Allan McNamara 3rd who predeceased him in 2003, his son, James "Allan" McNamara, his grandchildren: Sean T. McNamara, Dr. Zach Smalley, Zoe Smalley Reasons, Mackenzie Paige McNamara.
A love of farming, horses, cattle, aviation and family history were Phil's passions. Phil was a lifelong member and deacon of the Kerrville Presbyterian Church in Kerrville, Tennessee. A graduate Millington High School in 1959 and Phil attended University of Mississippi, Oxford, Mississippi 1959-62. Phil was self employed in his family farm from 1962-1981, a certified Flight Instructor from 1978-1987, designated FAA Pilot Examiner 1984-1996 awarded the Pilot Examiner Honor Roll and Flight Instructor of the Year(runner -up, 1984). Logged in over 10,000 flight hours since 1959. Phil was a member Sons of American Revolution, War of 1812, Descendants of Mexican War Veterans, Life Member of the N. B. Forrest Camp 215 Sons of Confederate Veterans, MOS&B, Spanish American War veterans, Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
