Percy Othell
Ervin
February 4, 1944 – December 27, 2024
Percy O. Ervin, 80, passed away on December 27, 2024. He was born on February 04, 1944, to parents Andrew and Ozella Ervin. Percy was loved by all who knew him. He loved Jesus and reading the Bible as well as spreading the word to all who would listen. A very hard working man, Percy worked and retired from International Harvester and Shelby County Road Department. He also served in the United States Army: 101st Airborne Division (Screaming Eagles). He volunteered for Crossroads Hospice by attending Veterans celebrations, singing hymns and spending time with them one on one. Percy loved music and dancing, he was a member of the Bop Club, where he would really get down! Percy is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Angelo Timbs, Cleo Polk, Faye Wammack, and Ora Lowery, as well as 2 brothers Coy and Hoby Ervin. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his son Wesley D. Ervin (Teresa), grandchildren, Misty Boykin and Dalton Ervin, as well as 2 great grandchildren, Bristol and Peyton Boykin. He also is survived by his sister Ceriese Bearden, Evelyn Luce (Gary), as well as 1 brother Johnny Ervin. Percy will forever be in our hearts, and we will miss him more than words can express.
