Patricia Faye Wimberly Parrish, 73, of Southaven, MS passed away unexpectedly at her home. She was born on March 11, 1945 in Lambert, MS.

Patricia was a 1963 graduate of Westside High School, and graduated summa cum laude with a BS in accounting from Memphis State University in 1983.  She was a certified public accountant, retired from public and private accounting, yet volunteered with AARP tax preparers at Southaven Public Library.

Patricia was a passionate, life-long advocate for animal rights, including wildlife rescue and education, as well as a docent at the Memphis Zoo.  She was most especially devoted to her many four-legged family members with whom she shared her life and home through the years.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Parrish; her father, Thomas Alvin Wimberly; her mother, Annie Fern Sanders Wimberly; and two sisters, Betty Lynn Wimberly and Carolyn Ann Ritter.  She is survived by her only son, Ronald Freeman Ray, Jr. of Munford, TN; his wife, Emily; and her four beloved grandchildren, Andie, Delaney, Audrey and Wyatt.  She also leaves two sisters, Donna Bumgardner (Dennis) of Millington, TN and Renee Watts (Alec) of Memphis, TN; one brother, Thomas Wimberly of Conway, AR; and a brother-in-law, Wallace Ritter of Memphis, TN, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 12:00 to 2:00 pm on Monday, March 11, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm.  All services and interment will be held at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home and Cemetery.
