Morris L. Perry, Sr., 65, died, January 30, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in Memphis. Mr. Perry was a 1968 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and a former member of Progressive Baptist Church on Vance Avenue where he grew up. A Navy Veteran, he was also a "family man" who loved old black and white westerns, card playing, and working on cars. Mr. Perry worked at the VA Medical Center in Memphis for over 35 years, first as a nurse assistant, and later overseeing construction projects throughout the hospital. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Peggie Perry; sons, Morris Lee Perry Jr. (Sonya); and Shaun D. Perry; four grandchildren, Devin, Leah, Jasmine, and Whitney; and one great grandson, William. The family will receive friends at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home on Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery.
