Morris Grada Grimmitt, 93, of Lakeland, TN died at Baptist Memorial Hospital on December 31, 2023.

Morris was born in Clinton, KY on April 5, 1930 to Hallie and John D. Grimmitt. As many of his incredible generation, he served in the United States Navy during World War II from 1950 to 1954. After serving our country, he moved to Covington, TN and later Millington, TN. where he met the love of his life, the former Eurena C. Satterfield. The couple married on March 30, 1957, and had a wonderful life together for 66 years.

A long-time member of Bartlett Woods Church of Christ, Morris served in many leadership roles and his council was sought out by numerous members. He was a founder and partner in Millington Furniture Showcase, which he ran until his retirement in 1997. He was a longtime supporter of the Millington community, involved in numerous non profit and charitable organizations. An avid pinochle and checkers player, in his spare time he loved University of Memphis Basketball, playing golf, feeding and watching birds, and spending family time at the beach.

He is survived by his wife Eurena, his sister Lena Sue Pitts (Carlos) of Searcy, AR; daughters Margaret Plemmons of Sachse, TX and Dawn Graeter of Memphis, TN; granddaughters Lindsey Shepherd (David) of Forney, TX, and Sydney Graeter of Memphis, TN; grandsons Ryan Plemmons (Jennifer) of Rockwall, TX and Austin Fulwood of Lakeland, TN; and three great- grandchildren, Sophia, Ethan, and Lillian.

Visitation will be held at 1 pm, followed by funeral service at 2 pm at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home, 6755 Highway 51 North, Millington, TN 38053 on Thursday, January 4 th , with burial following the service.
