Melvin Breckenridge, 80 of Henning, TN, passed away July 7, 2023.

Melvin is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp and a retired Firefighter of the City of Memphis with 25 years of service. During his working career he also served in the Army Reserves and worked in Chemical Toxic Cleanup "CTC". He was very knowledgeable in firearm usage and mechanics and contributed to training manuals used by the military. He became a licensed user of HAM radios and built speaker as a hobby later in life. He was a devoted listener of the Coast to Coast AM radio show.

He is survived by his daughter, Carol Butcher (Jimmy); son, Chris Breckenridge; sister, Judy Baker; and grandson, Julian Butcher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Lucille Breckenridge; and brother, William "Billy" Breckenridge.

Flowers can be sent to West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery for the service at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2023.
