Mary Ellen Ward, 78, of Memphis passed away September 25, 2013 at 3 p.m. at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Louise Gary, brother Robert Harold Gary, nephews Bob Gary and Steve Tillman. Survived by son, Jim Ward; brothers Bill Gary (Joyce), Nick Gary (Patricia); sisters Sue Cunningham, Jeanne Taylor and Linda Langston (Jackie); several nieces and nephews. She was of the Baptist Faith. She loved reading on her front porch, tending her flowers and rooting for her beloved Memphis Tigers basketball team. Visitation will be Saturday September 28 at 10 a.m. at the Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home in Millington, followed by graveside services at 11 a.m. at the same place. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The American Cancer Society or The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
