Obituary

Marshall Troy Davenport of 3000 Berwick Drive, died Saturday, October 25, 2014. A native of Woodruff, he was the son of the late James and Velma Hanna Davenport and the widower of Joyce Idalene Cantrell Davenport. He was a retired Chief Petty Officer with the U.S. Navy with over 23 years of service. Surviving are three sons, Kevin Davenport and Chris Davenport both of Millington, TN. and Timothy Davenport of Savannah, Ga.; two sisters, Judy (Charles) Edwards of Rockwell, N.C. and Perry (Darrell) Lee of Harmony, N.C.; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Linda Ann Lawter and a brother, Billy Davenport. Funeral services will be conducted tonight, Monday, October 27, 2014 at 7:00 P.M. at Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary Chapel by Rev. Jerry Taylor. Visitation will be held from 6:00-6:45 P.M. prior to the service at the Lanford-Gwinn Mortuary. A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at North Ridgewood Haven Memory Gardens, Millington, TN. under the direction of Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, Il. 60601 or the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, 1311 Mamaroneck Ave. Suite 310, White Plains, NY. 10605.
