IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mark Edward
Fox
October 8, 1957 – February 5, 2021
Mark Edward Fox was born October 8, 1957 in Indianapolis, Indiana and passed away at his home in Memphis, Tennessee on February 5, 2021, with his wife, Jackie by his side.
Mark was a man of exceptional courage and integrity, who excelled in those things that really mattered to him. In school, he was an honor student. After graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served his country for 15 years, achieving the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. During Mark's military service his areas of specialty included cable systems technician, drill instructor, logistics and embarkation management specialist. The skills honed in his military training and experience prepared him well for his future endeavors. Following his military service, he worked for several years in the telecommunications field. Mark ended his working career by fulfilling his dream to be a Personal Fitness Trainer. Although in appearance, Mark presented the stoutness of a Marine, as a Personal Fitness Trainer, his manner of training and teaching qualities revealed his true loving spirit. He will forever be missed, and never forgotten by those who truly got to know him. Mark attended Mt. Vernon and Asbury United Methodist Churches. Moreover, he sought to live his life of faith quietly, and in accordance with these words from Micah 6:8, "to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with God."
Preceded in death by his grandmother, Nellie Fox; father, Coleman Fox; brother, Lowell Fox; and brother-in-law, Bob Henley; Mark is survived by his loving wife, Jackie Henley Fox; sons, Mark E. Fox II and R. Nicholas Fox and his wife Elizabeth; mother, Betty Jean Wesley; brother, Dennis Fox and his wife, Tina; sister-in-law, Judith Fox; sister, Susan Mason and her husband, Jerry; brother-in-law, Steve Henley and his wife, Kathy. He is also survived by his faithful companion and wingman, the pit bull, Gunny.
A private memorial service, with Marine Corps Honors, will be held for the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that any memorials be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Donations can be made online at stjude.org or by mail at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
