Margie Marie Conway Hill Sanders, 92, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 5, 2016. Sunday was her favorite day and now she is in Heaven worshipping her Lord. She was born July 4, 1923, in Bono, AR, to the late James and Earm Conway. She had five siblings, all of whom preceded her in death. James William Hill, husband of 19 years, and William Clarence Sanders, husband of 17 years, also preceded her in death. Margie was a retail sales clerk and manager for Three Sisters ladies clothing store in Northgate Shopping Center from the day it opened until it closed in 1988. Margie loved the Frayser area and lived there 59 years before moving to an assisted-living facility in 2012. In 2015, she made her home with her daughter and son-in-law. Margie was a faithful member of Rugby Hills Baptist Church for 54 years and served as a prayer warrior; treasurer for WMU and SS; and volunteer in VBS, nursery, and kitchen. She was a six-year BSF graduate. Later she became an active member of Kirby Woods Baptist Church. Margie was blessed with children, David Hill (Pat) of Broken Arrow, OK and Lois Hill Acklen (Tommy) of Cordova. Her grandchildren include the late Deanna Hill Layne (Mark), Theresa Acklen Phillips (John), Jennifer Hill (Dwain), Wayne Acklen (Lisa), and Beth Hill Brown (Michael). Her great-grandchildren are Christopher (Summer), Justin, John David, Michelle, Trenton, Caroline, Jonathan and Sydney. She dearly loved her family and prayed for them daily. Visitation (10:00) and funeral (11:00) will be held Friday, June 10th at Kirby Woods Baptist Church (6325 Poplar Ave., Memphis). Margie will be laid to rest at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery in Millington. Feel Free to wear red, white, or blue in honor of her July 4th birthday.
