Margaret Denise Rowell peacefully joined our Lord and Savior on May 13, 2025.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Joann Huggins, and brothers Donald Huggins and Glenn Huggins.

She is survived by her three beloved children Kenneth (Deanna) Clark of Atoka, TN, Cheri (Erwin Van Meirvenne) Bertolucci of Dallas, GA, and Courtney (Derek) Brookshire of Germantown, TN.  Denise also leaves behind 11 grandchildren Molly Kate McCarty, Ian Clark, Hanna Watson, Patrick Clark, Will Hesselbein, Erin Clark, Jacob Hesselbein, Joshua Clark, Benjamin Bertolucci, Caravaggio Van Meirvenne, and Wyatt Brookshire, whom she cherished with all of her heart, as well as her three great-grandchildren Ollie, Ezra, and Gwendolyn Hesselbein.  She is also survived by three brothers Thomas Huggins, Edward Huggins, and Frank Huggins along with many nieces and nephews.

Denise was born in Oklahoma City, OK and raised in Memphis, TN.   She served as a Registered Nurse at the Regional One Trauma Center in the operating room for 35 years where she touched the lives of many patients.  Denise was very passionate about the field of nursing and possessed a strong desire to help others.  She also enjoyed traveling, reading, watching her shows, enjoying time with family and friends, sewing, smocking, crocheting, and playing word games with her grandbabies.  Denise loved spending time with her loyal canine companion BooBoo.  She always put her family first and loved each of them fiercely.  Denise was kind and funny.  She was always there to lend a helping hand and would go out of her way to help everyone, even strangers.  Denise adored Christmas, and the changing seasons.  She was always ready for an adventure of any kind.

As a Mom and Nana who loved her children,  grandchildren, and great-grandchildren beyond measure, Denise will be tremendously missed. Her family will always love her more.

The family will host a Celebration of Life, to honor Denise on June 7, 2025, 4pm-7pm, at Chimes and Occasions located at 201 S. Cooper St.,
Memphis, TN 38104.
