Obituary

Madie Sue Rook, age 70 of Munford, passed away peacefully on August 27 at Baptist East Hospital.

Called Sue by many, she was born on June 6, 1950 in Covington to Martha Elizabeth Ray Wilson and Elmer Theodore Wilson.

She was named after her maternal grandmother Madie Elizabeth Goodwin Ray.

Madie was very much a care giver to many.  She's a survivor and a strong woman.

She raised her two children to be independent and able to take care of themselves.  Madie
was an avid reader and enjoyed TV and movies.  She loved music, a family staple, and
enjoyed country, but Madie loved Boy George and Cee Lo Green. She took no
prisoners and mostly told others like it was.  She had a big heart and loved many.
Madie had a great sense of humor, was a storyteller, and could talk on the phone for
hours.  Madie was born the first of six girls and very much a big sister.

Madie is survived by her husband of over 40 years, William "Billy" Rook and has one
son, Timothy Wilkins and a daughter, Sheila Wilkins Coates. She has 1 grandchild
Benji Coates that she loved and spoiled.  Madie is survived by her 4 sisters:  Charlotte
Burns, Elaine Pickens, Karen Doyle, and Dorothy Wyer with numerous nieces and
nephews.  Madie Sue is preceded in death by her mother Martha, her grandmother
"Mama", sister Mary Elizabeth Cook, niece Candy, niece Marie, and nephew Eugene
whom she loved much and missed greatly.

Madie has chosen to be cremated and there will be no funeral.  No flowers please.
Madie Sue will be greatly missed by her family.  Life will never be the same, but the
family will always keep Madie Sue in their hearts, never forgotten.  I'm glad she is at
peace now.
