IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lucy
Caviness
March 2, 1934 – August 30, 2022
Frances Lucille "Miss Lucy" Caviness, 88, passed away on August 30, 2022 with her children by her side. She was born on March 2, 1934 in Harrisburg, AR to Irene and Rhea Eastin and grew up on the farm with her 5 brothers, Leon, Cecil, Billy, Max and Ricky.
Her husband of 59 years, Tex Caviness, preceded her in death. They raised and adored their children, Cheryl Ward (Mike), Pam Bourland (Roy) and Bo Caviness (Laurie) in Memphis, TN.
From chopping and picking cotton as a young girl and attending a one-room schoolhouse to conquering the technology of an IPhone, Lucy lived a life that saw many changes, and she treated each day as a precious gift.
If you had the good fortune to know Lucy, you loved her and her sayings "I'm so blessed", "Oh foot", "I Swanee", "Katie, bar the door", her laughter, her ability to weave a good story, her sweet soprano voice, and her love for everyone, not some, EVERYONE! She was a genuine light in this world.
Her world was completed with each arrival of her grandchildren; Eric LeBlanc (Karen), Alicia Dacus (Dane), Blake Miller (Anna), Hunter Bourland (April), Beau Caviness (Carly), Dalton Caviness (Hannah), Jeff Samsel (Colleen), Chris Samsel (Melissa), and Amanda Pittman (Daryn). Her 15 plus one on the way great-grandchildren brought her joy beyond measure. Her light made a way for many people to be a part of her family, especially Billy Ticer.
All are invited to honor and celebrate the life of Moma, Mammaw, Sister, Aunt, neighbor, friend, "Miss Lucy".
In Lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Jude Children's Hospital in Moma's memory.
