Lonnie E. Melton Jr., 82, died Sunday, November 9, 2014 at St Francis Hospital. He was a Master Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps for over 21 years, and a Vietnam Veteran. After retirement he worked as a Diesel Mechanic. He also enjoyed art/crafts, woodworking, and gardening. Mr. Melton was a hardworking man and was even a business owner for his tractor trailer repair company. His survivors include his wife, Barbara G. Melton of Southaven, MS; children; Lonnie Howard Melton of Covington; Mark (Kim) Melton of MN; William (Michelle) Andrews of Arlington; Jonathan Andrews of Cordova; Michael Andrews of Des Moines, IA; Lisa (Scott) Thomas of Memphis; and Alexander (Kristi) Olivetti of Atoka; thirteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a half-sister, Dorothy Baker of Memphis; and a half-brother, Mike Noe. The family will receive friends at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home on Friday, November 14, 2014, from 5-7. Funeral Services will be at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be sent to The Wounded Warrior Project.
