It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Lillian "Lala" Brooks, who departed this life on September 25 at the age of 82.

Born on April 25, 1943 in Memphis, TN., Lala was a woman of strength, grace, and boundless love. She dedicated her life to her family, always putting others before herself and nurturing those around her with kindness, wisdom, and compassion.

A devoted mother to Billy and Sheila (Randall), a cherished grandmother to Josh, Joey, William (Kayli), Ashley and Mallory (Geritt), and doting great-grandmother to Zoey, Jaxon, Lauren and Lillian. She was also a loving sister to Kenneth (Linda) and Mike (Cindy). Wearing so many hats, she was the heart of our family — a steady presence in our lives whose warmth and love will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Lala was known for her love of coffee with a cigarette, crocheting, crafting, moo moos, her passion for Alanon, and love for her family. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched and the values she instilled in those who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, William R "Bill" Brooks, Sr.

A celebration of her life will be held on October 1st, 2025. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon followed by the service at 2:00pm at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery, 6755 US 51 N, Millington, TN. Family and friends are welcome to attend and share memories of a life well lived.

Her love was a guiding light in our lives. While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the incredible person she was and the lasting impact she made.
