Mr. Kimberly B. Grover, "Kim", 71, born 1949 October 7, of Munford TN passed away peacefully March 13, 2021 in Covington, TN of COVID-19 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Tipton.
He leaves behind his wife and sweetheart of 48 years, Debra. Also, his son Keith, wife Angelia (Armstrong) and their two children Aaron and Emma Grover, all of TN.
He was preceded in death by his father Donald C. Grover of Chico CA, his dear mother Bette J. (Cummings) Grover of Granada Hills CA, and his beloved son Timothy B. Grover of Cordova TN. He is survived by his siblings: Nancy Dyer of Lancaster CA, Donald Grover of Redding CA, and Mark Grover of Granada Hills CA.
Kim enlisted in the United States Navy in 1969 in CA. He married in 1972. Debra, Timothy and Keith traveled with him to duty stations abroad, overseas, and on the mainland. He served during the Vietnam War and on three destroyers throughout his Navy career. He was an RMCS, stationed at Naval Air Station Memphis in Millington, TN with 22 years of faithful and honorable service to his country when he retired in 1991.
After his Navy retirement, Kim continued his career at NAS Comm Center and then at the Base Communication Office (BCO) at Naval Support Activity Memphis/NSA Mid-South in Millington, TN where he currently worked for over 25 years. It was his duty and pleasure to provide information and share his knowledge, but most of all to know you.
Kim enjoyed sharing family traditions, playing guitar and singing, dancing, swimming, scouting, riding his motorcycle, and going to the shooting range. He held an amateur radio license, a private pilot's license, and was a member of the flying club at NAS/NSA Millington, TN. Where he enjoyed sharing time with friends and flying Cessnas.
Love is in the details. Caring takes time. From your heart, you gave us your love and shared your engaging personality. From our hearts, we are grateful and will cherish the memories made together as a family. We will miss you and your smile.
There will be a short memorial in his honor at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery and Funeral Home. Spacing will be limited. Distancing and masking encouraged.
