Joseph "Tex, Nate, Doodle" Caviness of Henning, TN passed in peace Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the age of 78. He will be remembered by all as a caring, strong, hard-working man who loved life. A master of both carpentry and the BBQ pit, Tex also enjoyed coaching youth sports for many years. He was a partner in C&C Construction for 30+ years. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 58 years, Lucy Caviness, three children, Cheryl Ward (Mike), Pam Bourland (Roy), and Bo Caviness (Lisa), nine grandchildren, Eric, Mandy (Daryn), Jeff, Alicia (Dane), Chris (Melissa), Blake, Hunter, Beau, and Dalton, and three great-grandchildren, Chase, Aemilia, and Taylor. He also leaves his sister Laverne, brother Franklin, and many dear friends and family. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Bessie Caviness and brothers Johnny, Billy, and Randolph. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home, 6755 Hwy. 51, Millington, TN with services to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to St. Jude Children''s Research Hospital.
