Obituary

JOHNNIE MAE (STANPHILL) SHANKS, 80. Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, departed this life to be with the Lord on August 15, 2014, 10:57 PM, at The Baptist Reynolds Trinity Hospice House in Collierville. Johnnie was born on March 13, 1934 in Vina, Alabama; one of six children born to the late Homer and Annie Stanphill. Johnnie confessed her life to Christ at a young age and attended Easthill Baptist Church. Left behind to cherish her memory: one daughter, Theresa Hagewood; two sons, Daryl Shanks and Steven Shanks; a brother, Paul (Nancy) Stanphill; three sisters, Wilma Turner, Mary Mann and JoeAnn (John) Harrington; a sister-in-law (Ruby Stanphill); five grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Johnnie will reunite in heaven with her parents, brother (Charles Stanphill), brother-in-laws (Gene Turner and John Mann), uncles, aunts and cousins. Johnnie brought laughter and joy to her friends and loved ones. We were all blessed to have her in our lives. She will be greatly missed until we meet again. The family will receive friends at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home at 12:00 PM Wednesday, August 20, 2014. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM.
