John J. Smiley, 86, of Memphis, TN, passed away on Friday, December 6 ^, 2019 in Muncie, IN. Mr. Smiley was born in Dayton, OH, and was a graduate of the Indiana University in Bloomington Indiana. He was the retired owner of John J. Smiley Advertising in Memphis. John was loved by everyone especially children, because of his great sense of humor and his generosity.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Ina Jeanne Evans Smiley, and daughter, Emily Marr.

He leaves his daughter, Dawn Montague (Murray) of Yorktown, IN, and son, Michael Smiley of Muncie, IN; four grandchildren, Elisabeth Montague, Sgt. Peter Montague, Hannah Marr and Ian Hanken; also two great-grandchildren, Samora Rose Montague and Axton Houle.
