John passed away at home peacefully in his sleep on October 6, 2021 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. John was born in Memphis, TN to John Joseph Marus, Sr and Stella Rivalto Marus. Affectionately known as "Scooter" attended St. Therese-Little Flower elementary school and attended Christian Brothers High School, class of 1964.

John excelled at athletic activities including men's fast pitch softball leagues. He had a long career with Conwood Corporation, retiring after 42 years.

John leaves behind his devoted wife, Debra Marus, daughter, Angelina Marus Lancaster, step-son, Carey Moore and his spouse, Tammy, step-daughter, Melissa Moore Key and her spouse, Rob; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
