John Thomas "Pop" Malone, 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 30, 2018 at Regional One Health in Memphis, TN. He was born on March 5, 1929 in Weir, MS to Charles B. and Angie (Ellis) Malone. He was a loving faithful husband of 68 years, a dedicated follower of Christ for 63 years, and a member of City of Refuge in Atoka, TN. He was preceded in death by two sons: John Thomas Malone, Jr. (1951, Memphis, TN) and Dennis Terry Malone (2011, Memphis, TN). He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou (Jones) Malone; daughters: Donna Smith (Ron) and Cheryl Stempert; sons: Charles Malone (Pam) and John A. Malone (Glenda); daughter-in-law, Sandra Malone, wife of late son, Dennis Malone; 14 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held Friday, August 3, 2018 at 1:00 pm. All services and interment will be at Forest Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, East.
