July 29, 1937 – May 12, 2018
Jimmy Dean Finney-age 80 of Millington, TN went to be with the Lord on May 12, 2018. He was born in Cotton Plant, AR and was a member of Egypt Baptist Church in Millington. Jimmy served in the United States Army and retired from DuPont after 35 years. He loved sports, and was a huge Arkansas Razorbacks fan. This love of sports led to him coaching youth football, basketball and baseball. In addition, he also enjoyed hunting, and spending time with his family and grandkids. His grandkids inherited his love of sports and were also involved in several sporting events, and Jimmy never missed a game.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lovell Ben and Mary Nell Roberts Finney; his grandparents and his grandson, Chase Brown. He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Mary Finney of Millington; sons, Jere (Pam) Finney of Memphis, Kyle (Kim) Finney of Nesbit, MS and John (Robyn) Finney of Cordova; one sister, Terry Bales of Colorado; five grandchildren, Jeremy, Mary Beth, Landon, Dylan and Hunter; and six great-grandchildren, Allie, Camryn, Garner, Lillian, Addison, and Abbie.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from 12-2pm with the funeral service at 2pm. Dr. Kevin Ferrell will be officiating. Interment will follow with Jere Finney, Kyle Finney, John Finney, Jeremy Finney, Landon Finney and Hunter Finney serving as pallbearers.
