In loving memory of "Chief" Jerry Earl Long, born October 27, 1939 in Birmingham, Alabama who leaves us in his 74th year. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy for 26 years and was a deacon of East Acres Baptist Church.

Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Iris Maylene Long and his father, Earl Andrew Long and an infant brother, Eugene Long.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Patsy Jane (Schroeder) Long. He also leaves a sister, Judy Lee Long, as well as threes sons, Kerry Earl Long, David Eugene Long, Paul Andrew Long and a daughter Amy LeAnn Long. He was a loving grandfather of 14 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a friend and father figure to many.

Visitation will be 12pm - 1pm on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home in Millington, TN with funeral following at 1pm. Burial will be at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery.
