James J. Watt, Msgt U.S.M.C. Retired, died Saturday December 31, 2011 in Memphis, TN. James is survived by his loving wife of 42 years: Barbara Watt; sons and daughter-in-law, James J. Watt Jr. "JJ" wife, Dawn "Baby Girl", and Gerald R. Watt "Jerry Bob"; daughter, Christina L. Watt "Chrissy" and life partner Ellen D. Demos; brother, Gerald G. Watt Jr. and family; sisters, Connie J. Klenoshek and family, Mariane Reho and family; sister-in-law, Donna L. Mowbray and family; grandchildren, Joshua Alan, James Tyler and Austin James Watt, Amber Watkins and Jerry Wayne Hamilton Jr.; great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Rivers, Arianna, and Dallis Rainne, and Jerry Wayne III. James served his country for 22 years as a United States Marine. He served in Vietnam and his MOS was "Corrections", serving as a Brig Warden at Camp Lejeune, Parris Island, Hawaii and Okinawa, Japan. He was a recruiter in Columbus, Ohio and retired here in Millington, TN. on May 18, 1984 from MATSG-90. He worked at Centetra here at NAS. His heart was serving his Jesus, his family and his Heartsong Church. He was not just the "clean up man", he was Papa Jim to everyone there. He was the Heartsong building engineer, prayer warrior and Jesus follower. He loved the children with all his heart at Great Adventure Child Care and also at home with Barbara and the daycare they ran from their home together. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home in Millington, TN. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 6 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, at Heartsong Church in Cordova, TN. Interment with Full Military Honors will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, January 6, at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery in Millington, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Heartsong Church in Cordova, TN.
