IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Allen
Peerey
July 18, 1958 – March 9, 2026
James Allen Peerey, age 67, of Millington, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 9, at home surrounded by the love of his family and close friends. He was born July 18, 1958, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the son of the late Mary Francis and James Jefferson Peerey.
He leaves behind a legacy of respect, hard work, loyalty, and kindness. James was known by many as a diesel mechanic and shop foreman at G&W Diesel, where he worked for 45 years. His skill, determination, and dedication earned him the respect of everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him.
James was a devoted husband to his wife, Jeni Lane Peerey, for 30 years, and a loving and proud father to his children, Aaron Peerey (Kassidy) and Lexi Peerey (Cody). He is also survived by his sister, Cheryl Teel, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
A hardworking provider, James was admired not only for his mechanical talent but also for the strength of his character. He was loyal, determined, and a true fighter who always put his family first. Many would not have known of James' long and courageous battle with cancer, as he remained a positive and radiant presence to those around him. Those who knew James will remember his big, infectious smile, his jokes, and the happiness he carried wherever he went. He was the kind of person who could walk into any room and immediately find someone he knew or quickly make a new friend.
Outside of work, James loved spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed being at the lake on the boat with family and friends on the weekends, which later became time spent supporting his children as Aaron played traveling baseball and Lexi played volleyball. He also loved sitting in the sun, riding around on the golf cart, and relaxing while watching NASCAR on television. For James, the simple moments and time spent with the people he loved meant the most.
James will be remembered as a strong, devoted, and honest man whose warmth and positivity left a lasting impact on everyone he met. The example he set through his work ethic, kindness, and unwavering love for his family will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
