James Allen Moore, "Jimmy", 83, died peacefully at Baptist Memorial Hospital on August 24, 2011. Proud native Memphian, "the Mayor of North Watkins Street", graduate of Bartlett High School and University of Memphis. Jimmy was an elementary school teacher, owner of Moore''s Laundry and Cleaners, insurance professional, and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of First Methodist Church and a volunteer at the Church Health Center. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Morris D. and Ruth N. Moore. He is survived by his loving partner of 16 years, Richard H. Kohrs, and six cousins: Linda Cerasale, Lee Litton, Ernest Carter, Arnetta Rickman, Janine Sealy, and Jim Moore. Jimmy was everyone''s extraordinary friend and had true affection for God''s creation. Seeing Christ in the face of all, he led by example. Memorial gifts may be directed to the Humane Society of Shelby County, First Methodist Church, or the Church Health Center.
