James Larry Johnson, Sr. 72, died November 28, 2015. He was born and raised in New Madrid, MO. After serving in the Air Force, he moved to Memphis and began working for Buckeye Cellulose until he retired. He was preceded in death by his parents Author Amos Johnson (Father) and Tempie Mason Johnson (Mother). He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Gwyn Hopkins Johnson; sons James Larry Johnson Jr. (Paula), Phillip Johnson (Stephanie); daughter Dyannah Johnson Lutrell (Darrell); Step-daughter, Amanda Hopkins, & Step-son, Matthew Hopkins; grandchildren Jessica Ferrell, Ashley Anderson (Zachary), Blake, Kristen, Colton, Daniel, and Nathan Johnson; great-grandchildren Hayden, Lily, and Emma. Services will be Friday, December 4, 2015 with visitation at 1 p.m. and the funeral to follow at 2 p.m. at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Owens officiating the service. Serving as Pallbearers are: James Larry Johnson Jr., Phillip Johnson, Zane Lewis, Dennis Clay, Darrell Lutrell, and Rick Wyatt. Burial will be at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery.
