James Harvey High Sr., 90, passed away in Tipton County on Monday, January 06, 2025. He was born on May 21, 1934 in Shelby County TN, to the late John Henry High and Eunice Nix. After graduating high school, James began his working career. He worked as a painter for many years but specifically for the City of Memphis for 20 years until he retired. James married the love of his life Bulah I. High on March 19, 1998. James loved watching and attending car races and car shows. He enjoyed watching football, baseball and westerns. He enjoyed fishing as much as he could as well. James was also an active member at Elliston Baptist church, where he worshipped faithfully until he could no longer attend. James is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Virginia as well as his second wife Bulah, and two brothers: Gerald and Ernest High. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his 4 children: James High Jr., Steven High (Cindy), Pamela Corliss (Dale), and Lisa Murphy (Danny). He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren. James will forever be in our hearts, and we will miss him more than words can express.
