James Bennett Gregory, 81, peacefully passed away, in his home in Munford, TN on January 29, 2025, with his daughters Paige Gregory Smith and Kristen Gregory Sampley by his side. He was born on December 7, 1943 to the late Sandiland and Jessie Olivia Gregory. "Ben" lived a life full of adventure. He owned multiple salvage businesses and worked extremely hard. Some of his many hobbies included racing boats, cars and horses and also building hot rods and motorcycles. He loved spending time with his grandsons Maverick and Kruze Smith and his granddaughter Ava Marie Sampley. He always told everyone how "cool" they are and how proud he was to be their Papaw.

Ben is described by many friends and family as "a legend", "a gentle giant", "the best friend" and a man who "had the biggest heart". He was a force of nature. He came such a long way from a young boy picking cotton in Arkansas to building an amazing life in Tennessee and helping many along the way. He was his daughters' biggest fan and never parted from them or hung up the phone without telling them he loved them first.

Ben is preceded in death by his brothers Buddy, Stanley, Frank, David and Larry Gregory, sister Mildred Marquez and special, lifelong friend, Debra K. Gregory.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Paige Gregory Smith and her sons William Maverick and Kruze Bennett Smith, his daughter Kristen Gregory Sampley and her daughter Ava Marie Sampley, his daughter Sandy Londenberg and her daughters Stacy Peery and Rachel Downes, five great grandchildren, his sister Gene Gregory, his sister Sarah Ann Gregory and his sister Nancy Ferracci.

To know him is to love him. Ben was loved dearly and will be missed even more.
