James Edward Dunlap, 82, died Thursday, July 21, 2022 at home in Oakland, Tennessee. He is survived by his daughter, Tina Dunlap, his grandson, Joseph Dunlap, and granddaughter, Ashley Dunlap; his brothers, Gene Dunlap(Kirstine), Donald Dunlap (Nina), Terry Dunlap and Mike Dunlap; his sisters, Gloria Paseur (Gary) and Betty Dunlap. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces, step grandchildren, and friends. He also leaves behind his beloved Chewee for a second time.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Newell and Etoy Dunlap, his loving wife and soulmate, Minnie Dunlap, his son, Dennis Dunlap, his grandson, Brandon Dunlap, his brother, Tommy Dunlap, and sister, Shirley Jones (Dewey).

James "Jim" served in the United States Navy and retired from Du Pont as an instrumental mechanic. He loved the Lord; his creator and enjoyed "tinkering", fishing, boating, and spending time with his family and friends in Tumbling Shoals, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials are sent to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
