James Campbell Banks, 85, died Saturday, November 22, 2014 at his Memphis residence. Mr. Banks was an artist. He was a retired designer/draftsman for Holiday Inn for over 25 years, and had retired from the United States Navy after 21 years. In the Navy he worked as an Aviation Boatswain Mate on Aircraft Carriers; and as a Fire Chief. He was a member of First United Methodist Church Millington. His survivors include his wife of 62 years, Zula Inez Banks of Memphis; children, Gary Lee (Ruth) Banks of Martinsburg, WV; Charles Campbell Banks of Memphis; and Celeste (Stephen) Skonhovd of Millington; grandchildren, Jacob Folkner (Melissa) Banks; Joshua Thatcher Banks; Benjamin Sheppard Banks; Rachel Dutson Banks; Daniel James Banks and Noah Paul Banks all of WV; David James Skonhovd of Memphis; Jeffrey Wayne (Megan) Skonhovd of Bartlett; Joseph Stephen (Amy) Skonhovd of Memphis; and a brother, Robert (Leona) Banks of Mount Airy, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Campbell and "Dolly" Dalton Banks; and brothers, George Oscar Banks; David Banks; and William Banks. The family will receive friends at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home on Friday, November 28, 2014, from 1-2. Funeral Services will be at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home on Friday, November 28, 2014 at 2:00. Interment will be at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery.
